Back by popular demand!! Many students have asked if we could have another reading night! So we have planned another night of reading, treats and fun! Come and join us for our BRES Spring Reading Night on Thursday, April 7 (6-7 pm).

Please complete an RSVP for EACH student attending. We will provide each student with the materials needed for the activities. Please make sure your child waits until the event to use these materials. Your child will receive their bag of materials at school on April 7.

New Plaque to Honor BRES Artists who Contributed to the Bayard Rustin Mural
The PTA purchased a plaque about the Bayard Rustin Community Mural that was completed in 2019. Ms. Haviland and students in second-fifth grade (2018-2019) produced the art work to commemorate the opening of BRES and civil rights leader Bayard Rustin. Thanks to Ms. Haviland and the student artists for their great work. Happy Bayard Rustin Week!

The BRES PTA Advocacy Committee would like your input on the draft advocacy work plan. The plan aims to enable BRES families to collectively advocate to address overcrowding concerns and mitigate future disruptions due to unanticipated spikes in enrollment. By uniting to address these concerns, we can support all BRES students and staff in achieving success.

February 2022 PTA Membership Meeting Slides Available
The PTA hosted a membership meeting on 2/3/22. The meeting included updates on COVID-19, Kindergarten & 3rd grade class changes, enrollment and capacity, and guest speakers from Montgomery County Recreation, Montgomery Parks, and the City of Rockville to talk about summer camps and activities.

Gifted Education Committee: Math Info Night on 2/10/22
The MCCPTA Gifted Education Committee invites MCPS parents and caregivers to a "Mathematics Information Night” on Thursday, February 10th @ 7pm.
The presentation will offer families an in-depth view into MCPS math options from elementary all the way through high school. Information about graduation requirements, enrichment and acceleration avenues, advocacy, and much more will be shared!
Please take a survey to help us advocate for the needs of students! At the end of the survey, there’s an opportunity for you to ask us questions. We will try to answer them during the presentation or via a subsequent FAQ.
The event will be offered with software-generated simultaneous captions in Spanish.

El Comité de Educación para Estudiantes con Altas Habilidades ("Gifted Education Committee/GEC") del Consejo de PTAs del Condado de Montgomery ("MCCPTA") invita a todas las madres, padres y cuidadores de estudiantes de MCPS a asistir a una “Noche Informativa de Cursos de Matemáticas” el jueves 10 de Febrero a las 7pm.
La presentación ofrecerá a las familias una visión detallada de las opciones de cursos de matemáticas de MCPS desde la escuela primaria hasta la secundaria. ¡Se compartirá información sobre los requisitos de graduación, las vías de enriquecimiento y aceleración, cómo participar mejor con las escuelas y mucho más!
¡Le agradecemos que complete una encuesta para ayudarnos a defender las necesidades de los estudiantes! Al final de la encuesta, tiene la oportunidad de hacernos sus preguntas. Intentaremos responderlas durante la presentación o posteriormente a través de un FAQ con preguntas más frecuentes.
