BRES Book Fair: We Need Your Help!

This year our goal is to put 1000 books into the hands of our students and teachers. Please help our school meet our goal and inspire a love of reading in our students. Scholastic will give back a portion of the goal as rewards to our school when you shop. This link will show you our progress and other fun information.

This event cannot happen without LOTS of helpers. The Sign-Up Genius for all available shifts is >>>>>HERE<<<<<. We need your help to make this event a success. Please sign up for an hour or two if able. No experience needed! Duties will include helping kids locate books to purchase, assisting with counting money or total purchase price, ringing up at the cash register or organizing. Here’s the schedule of events:

  • Setup Day: Friday October 7, 4-7 pm

  • Preview Day: Monday Oct 10, 9am-4pm

  • Shopping Days: Tuesday Oct 11-Thursday Oct 13, 9am-4pm

  • Reading is Magic Family Fun Night: Thursday, Oct 13, 5-8:30pm

At Family Fun Night, enjoy shopping and a show! A magical, family-friendly movie will start at sunset (~6:45pm) so bring your chairs and blankets to get a comfy spot. Food trucks on site 5-8pm. Book Fair sales start at 6pm. AND there will be PTA Provided FREE POPCORN! We’ll also have the following vendors selling food:

Feria de Libros Scholastic en BRES 

Este año nuestra meta es poner 1000 libros en manos de nuestros estudiantes y maestros. Ayude a nuestra escuela a alcanzar esta meta e inspirar el amor por la lectura en nuestros estudiantes. Una película familiar, mágica comenzará al atardecer (~6:45 p.m.), así que traiga sus sillas y cobijas/mantas para obtener un lugar cómodo. Camiones de comida estarán presentes de las 5:00 p.m. a las 8:00 p.m. Las ventas de libros comienzan a las 6:00 p.m. ¡Y habrá PALOMITAS DE MAÍZ GRATIS! The PTA Board & Membership are so happy to invite you all to a Back to School Picnic.  Bring your chairs and blankets to set up on the blacktop or fields.  A free magic show will take place approximately 5:30 in the gymnasium. Bounce House Inflatables are provided by Kids After Hours. Rock Creek Church will be selling PIZZA by the slice and cold drinks. Food Trucks on site will include KONA ICE and FIRED UP GRILL. Burgers, Chicken, Hot Dogs, Salads and Sodas are available for purchase.

This event cannot happen with out many helpers. Please consider pitching in for an hour (with or w/o your students!) SIGN UP GENIUS .

Foxes and Prizes Wanted!

Do you like to shop? Do you love a end-of summer sale rack? Do you receive a lot of nice gifts, but don't need them all? Then you are the friends I'm looking for! And I know LOTS of kids who would LOVE to earn/win them.

We are looking for FOXES and PRIZES to display in the hallway cabinets. Feel free to drop in the main office labeled PTA and I'll take care of the rest. Email - President@brespta.org

Letter from the President & Invitation to PTA Meeting - this Wednesday!

Fox Family, 

It's such a good feeling when all of the plans we organized this summer have become reality. We have officially met all of our “back to school” goals as a PTA. Memberships are rolling in and spiritwear is flying off the shelves. School spirit is in full effect!  I hope your kids are adjusting well to the busy days and less snack breaks. I am comforted in knowing how incredible the BRES staff is at handling all our children's unique personalities. THAT is why I am so passionate about volunteering and keeping our PTA members informed.  Because our school is the best! 

This month I invite you to “Make Magic Happen” with us. If that means participating in after-school programs that we have arranged, or giving your time for organizing, data entry or bulletin boards, or maybe your professional skills can enhance our reach to those who speak other languages, we have a way to include you.  Shoot me an email with your ideas!

BRES PTA Membership Drive and T-Shirt Giveaway!

We're kicking off the school year with a special membership drive and t-shirt giveaway. Anyone who purchases a PTA membership by September 7 will be entered in a lottery for a free BRES raglan t-shirt! This means that if you've already joined, you're already eligible.

The winner will be announced during our first PTA meeting, which will start promptly at 7pm on September 7. You must be present to claim your prize.

Staff Appreciation Luncheon this Friday!

Help us kick off the school year with our BRES Staff Appreciation Lunch! Sign-up to contribute homemade or store bought food items, supplies, decorations, or drinks for our staff luncheon - which will happen immediately after the BRES Open House (10:30-12:00) on Friday August 26, 2022.

BRES 5th Grade Promotion on June 15

Our 5th Grade promotion will take place on the BRES field on June 15 from 10:30-11:45AM. We will gather concert-style so bring your blankets or chairs! Afterwards, there will be light refreshments on the BRES blacktop. THEN 5th Grade Fun Day will take place from 1:30-3:30 on the 5th Grade field. All 5th Grade families and loved ones are welcome!

Get ready to have some summer fun. Bring your comfy set up to sit back and relax! Bring your appetite for the yummy offerings from local food trucks. We are planning some old fashioned picnic games, you might want to bring a towel. 

Volunteers needed to facilitate the games. Experience with hundreds of children not needed, all supplies provided. VOLUNTEER SIGN UP GENIUS LINK HERE. KAH will be providing us with some large water toys!
