Grades 2-5 Back to School Night on September 23
Back to School night is a time for parents to learn about the academics and organization of their child’s school and classroom. It will take place virtually from 6-7:30 p.m.
Schedule includes:
6:00-6:30pm: Main Session Welcome & Community Builder
6:00-6:30pm: Main Session Meet & Greet Community Building
6:30-7:10: Session 1, Grade-Level Presentations & Class-Specific Breakout Rooms
7:10-7:50: Session 2, Grade-Level Presentations & Class-Specific Breakout Rooms
7:50-8:00: Closure & Evaluation

With return to school comes new issues of common concern. Here are some of the current topics being discussed in Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA).
The Montgomery County Board of Education meeting is this Thursday September 9, 2021 beginning at 12:00PM. Click here to view the meeting. The agenda includes "Fall Return to School: Student and Principal First Days of School Reflections (oral discussion)."
MCCPTA held an Advocacy Zoom on MCPS COVID-19 testing. If you are interested in this topic and would like to view the recorded session, click here.
Laura Stewart the MCCPTA Capitol Improvement Program Committee Chair has provided sample advocacy language for residents/parents who are interested in expressing concern with the testing approach to Board of Education members and stakeholders here.

The Bayard Rustin PTA is offering a new tie-dye t-shirt design and first-ever adult and youth face mask designs for purchase.
In addition to showing your Red Fox spirit, your order will benefit the PTA and our work supporting academic needs, advocating for important issues and engaging our community. Learn more about the PTA at brespta.org.
Complete this form by Monday, September 13, to pre-order your t-shirts and masks. Then submit your payment (cash or check) or online via PayPal. Checks may be made payable to the Bayard Rustin Elementary School PTA. Payments must be received by September 15.
Pre-ordered t-shirts and masks will be distributed in October. Additionally, these items will be available at the PTA table at in-person family events beginning in October.
